You're living the dream, right?

You're living the dream, right?
what is it as I get older
time passes faster
summer solstice
days begin to shorten
sweat glistens
humid dreams
sticky hardwood
dance in a sprinkler
joy in a splash
run on a pitch
what is it as I get older
time passes faster
i will be stronger [K'naan]
you will be stronger
you will be greater
we will be older
will we still love
we will be free
what will it be
we will find what we lost
full circle
eternity never began
because it never ended
that singularity
was it a bang
was it big
arrow of time
is forward
back
your future is now
as it always was
yesterday is tomorrow
as will your sorrow
your joy
your pain wrapped into one
tidy package
delivered by Amazon
some algorithm has laid out your life
in glorious detail
knows you better than yourself
trust in the all-knowing
Google or Siri
depends on your preference
don't worry it's a safe space
data-driven drivel
autonomous
it's free
so why don't you share
it's a global village
you got it good
you can ignore
that man on the street
that child on the other side of the world
that woman on the corner
retreat into fantasy
post another picture
like someone's like
it's new it's fresh
it's disposable, convenient
life is good
you're living the dream, right?
